There are at least 2 Sti artists. 1) STi is a composer whose work has appeared in the DJMAX games. 2) STI’s songs are symbiosis of straight lyrics with distinctive sounds. Through dark atmosphere (how it would seem to be at first glance) there’s actually life-asserting beginning is infiltrating. Like the first sunbeam forcing its way through clouds after radioactive mushroom rain. Interesting rhythms and psychedelic melodies live together in STI’s tracks. Sometimes assembled from rough cuts and sometimes skillfully played with live instruments, STI’s music goes somewhere deeper than just your ears. STI is a result of collapse of alternative band S.T.I.N.K.I.E. which was pretty much-talked-of in narrow circles of Russian new-rock lovers. In contrast to previous albums their last longplay called “Nesakhar” (“Notsugar” in translation from Russian) was not released anywhere. Only two members stayed – Fla and Itch. Official site of the band was closed, but year later album has leaked into the net and made unexpected resonance up to creating even fan-club and several unplanned gigs in different cities. At that time their music was noted by Alexander Xuman, an owner of label Xuman Records. Guys were found urgently and delivered to the Xuman Records studio. It was easy to find understanding between each other. Together they decided to create conceptually new project STI. Collaboration work on first single “NIchego Ne Budet” (“Nothing will happen”/2008) and following EP “Naiznankoo” (“Inside Out”/2009) has begun. While working, Itch has left the band, but Fla and Xuman finished their work and released tracks on the net. At the moment STI are preparing concert program with: Fla (voice, guitar, other instruments), Eee (bass, electronic devices), Tyler (electronic devices, keyboard, yo-yo) and Svyatoslav Ermakov (drums, percussion). Fla is unchallenged leader and author of songs. In different periods of life he has taken in different music: from The Beatles and RCHP to Squarepusher and Miles Davis. Fla’s vocal is transparent and melodic. Manner of singing can be characterized as “Tom Yorke aspiring to become Bjork”. Vanya Eee doesn't have any interests but music. No wonder, because his school was Russian Choir Acadamy, and then Sound Engineering faculty at Russian Institute of Television and Radio. Eee likes progressive jazz, intellectual rock, nu-rave and Christina Aguilera. In band Eee leads bass line, sings back-vocals and makes electronic manipulations with Tyler. Tyler is fan of Tool. In band he plays role of sound shaman, leads bassline, manipulates with incoming and outgoing signals and even shows acrobatic sketches with aggressive yo-yo. Svyatoslav Ermakov (aka Slava) is a drummer, graduating the most authoritative in Russia Gnesin Academy of Music. After finishing military service he has joined the band. At spare time makes yoga.
