Brewers Droop (a reference to a slang expression for erectile dysfunction brought on by heavy drinking) was a short-lived southern English rock/blues band best known for member Mark Knopfler, who later shot to fame as a member of Dire Straits. They were formed in Buckinghamshire and released two albums and a 7" between 1971 and 1973. Knopfler split his time between teaching part-time, and playing with the band. Later, the Dire Straits song "Industrial Disease" mentions a malady (alongside smoker's cough) which shares its name with the band. Read more on Last.fm.
