Superqueens

Greater Manchester band Superqueens are the combination of Bruce Magill's beats, grooves and cool aural engineering and Michael Conroy's caustic spoken word ramblings. Since their formation in 2002, Superqueens released two albums before disbanding in 2006; cheap shots in 2004 on Skinny Dog Records, Manchester and Royal Shit in 2006 on their own micro-label Supermarket Records , both with a limited edition run of 1000 CDs. The artwork for Royal Shit was done by Russell Miller of mydesignclub.co.uk. Superqueens played less than a dozen times live but twice supported I Am Kloot on UK mini-tours, in 2004 (King Tut's, Glasgow, Glee Club, B'ham, La Scala, London King's X and Manchester Academy) and again in 2005 (Leadmill Sheffield, Manchester Ritz). They recorded one of the last 'Peel Sessions' in August 2004. In 2010 vocalist/lyricist Michael Conroy reprised an earlier, pre-Superqueens, collaboration The Orch, with the long-postponed release of 'small times', this time again on skinny dog records, initially as a digital download only, on 06/12/10.
