Vestiges Of Ecstasy is an appropriate name for the band previously titled HEAVENandHELL. After many glowing achievements, an equal number of rough times, and a 2-year lay-off, founding members Mia Kileen, Gregg Jones and John Foster have joined forces with outstanding bassist Jeremy McQueary to combine the best characteristics of HEAVENandHELL with J's new personality and style. The end result is Vestiges Of Ecstasy, the Remains of Heaven! Vestiges Of Ecstasy combine powerful instrumentation, catchy melodies, and smart arrangements to create Riff-Driven Modern Rock with Progressive Attitude, guitar rock for a new generation! VoE is hard hitting enough for any fan of modern rock while maintaining a song friendly format found tasty by a wide audience. Reviewers and fans alike have likened Vestiges Of Ecstasy to Lacuna Coil, Guano Apes, Evanescence, and Pat Benetar. Vestiges Of Ecstasy was conceived, originally as HEAVENandHELL, in January ’03 by Mia Kileen and Gregg Jones for the sole purpose of self-expression. They wanted to write music they would enjoy listening to as much as creating. This became the basis of Vestiges Of Ecstasy’s sound. Picture a snow-covered mountain as the first rays of the morning gleam from the melting snow of the night before. Both beautiful and powerful are words that describe the music found on VoE’s new CD! Mia has proven to be a marvelous front woman. Her growth, both as a performer and a musician over the past 5 years, has propelled the new Vestiges Of Ecstasy material into a realm previously unattained. Her deeply personal lyrical style and sultry, rock vocals create an immediately identifiable sound in today’s “Cheaper By The Dozen” musical landscape. Gregg’s role in Vestiges Of Ecstasy is to provide maximum riffage, harmony, and color. With incredible tone and an ear for the unusual, Gregg’s shadings and choice of lines are like crack to an addict! Gregg’s goal is to provide a unique aural experience that is immediately identifiable from but a few notes. Bassist Jeremy McQueary spans the creative bridge between the beats and the melodies. Jeremy’s passion for music drives him to discover his own style by combining technical aspects with a solid foundation. Drummer John Foster, combines his aggressive, raw, and hard-hitting style with the discipline and skill garnered from his early years in thrash outfit Oddessy to propel Vestiges Of Ecstasy to a new level of intensity! In June 2004, Vestiges Of Ecstasy, under the name HEAVENandHELL, released their debut CD, HnH2004. This CD is packed full of the emotion and personality that VoE’s members had been harboring since they first came together. Recorded by Scott Rainey over a 4-month period at Indy studio The Hit Department, this CD garnered rave reviews for content and production quality. With songs such as Suffocating, Believe, and Without You, this CD firmly established VoE as a player in the Indy music scene. In fact, independent movie company GemInI Films included VoE song “One Day” on the soundtrack to its 2004 release “Reunion.” In late fall/winter of 2007, Vestiges Of Ecstasy released its 2nd CD titled appropriately, HEAVENandHELL. Though Mia and Gregg remain the principle songwriters and the album was recorded in the same studio, the new CD reveals the evolution of VoE as a more mature and unique voice emerges from this CD. Songs such as Infidelity and Throwing Stones exhibit the power of VoE while the beauty and emotion of While The Sparrow Sings displays VoE’s deeper side. While The Sparrow Sings is the 1st video release from this new album and will expose VoE to a diverse base of music fans through cable and internet music stations. Read more on Last.fm.
