Harris Tweed (now Dear Reader) is the Johannesburg based folk/pop outfit that are causing a stir with their quirky personality & soulful songs. In their first year together they have released a SAMA nominated debut album, showcased at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas & had their video for 'Ode to Confusion' playlisted on MTV & VH1 in Europe. This eclectic art-pop duo sports some of South Africa's freshest and most promising talent. The central focus of their uninterrupted attention? - the songs; which feature an array of mountain-stroll melodies and heartfelt lyrics that are both honest and guarded in complexities. Cherilyn MacNeil and Darryl Torr started work on their debut album, 'The Younger' at the beginning of 2006 - a masterpiece they wrote, produced and recorded all on their own. A couple of months later they released their musical creations in South Africa through respected indie label, Just Music. Currently the pair are touring South Africa with their band mates, steadily winning the hearts of audiences wherever they go. They have appeared on the bill for all the major festivals in their home land over the last few months, and continue to push boundaries by putting on bigger and more exciting shows. With their natural sparkle, their you-can-always-be-better attitude, feet firmly on the ground and their work-hard, hands-on approach, Harris Tweed are sure to grow into one of the most substantial acts of this generation.
