A Sweet Dependency How would you describe beauty to another person? All forms of expression seem to be insufficient to make this highly subjective experience conceivable. Yet, one can try and even form a band based upon the very concept of sharing beauty. This is what 'This Love Is Deadly' is about. They attempt to make a special kind of beauty accessible for everyone, the bond that keeps their music and lyrics flowing from the very depths of their hearts: love. Formed in 2006 by louis (guitar, voc) and lisa (voc, bass) in Wiesbaden, Germany, TLID emphasized from the beginning the use of raw, distorted guitars combined with experimental electronic sounds. Especially the voice of lisa, sounding like a successful mixture of Charlyn Marshall, Patti Smith and PJ Harvey, gives the music an undistinguishable flair few could hope to master. Deeply influenced by a variety of bands such as Dinosaur Jr. and Joy Division, a specific attribute of their sound can be ascribed to the influence of the Dubliner band My Bloody Valentine, who had a major impact on the musical development of TLID. Not giving in to plain thievery, a lot of their songs can be seen as a felicitous homage to this great band, while still keeping their own characteristic sound. The most notable trait of their music, though, is the clearly recognizable honesty and passion that makes every song an unique and absorbing experience. Neglecting the shallowness of the so-called mainstream, every note played originates where awesome music is produced: in the heart. -by Alex Giebel Read more on Last.fm.
