The Upwelling

With influences like Pink Floyd and the Pixies, New York City’s the Upwelling have been gathering notice. While unsigned, the band was designated as the 1st unsigned act and 1st EP on Virgin-Megastore’s Virgin Recommends series, Spin.com Underground Band-of-the-Year, and named Karma Productions’ band to tour Ireland. Without agency, the band was invited to tour the U.K. with the All-American Rejects and then invited to tour the U.S. as the sole support on Third Eye Blind’s 10-year anniversary tour. Recently, the band was signed to Tyson Ritter of All-American Rejects’ label, Edmond Records. Their first record, An American Stranger, is due for release August 25th 2009. The Upwelling, a band of brothers, Ari (Vocals/Guitar) and Josh Ingber (Drums/Harmony), will be touring through the summer and fall. In other Upwelling News, Ari co-wrote a song, About to Break, with Third Eye Blind’s Stephan Jenkins which is slated to be a single on Third Eye Blind’s first full release in 6 years, due out August 18th, 2009.
