The Rideouts

Everybody and every band in music these days sound like someone else: right? Well, is that such a bad thing? After all John Lennon was a fan of Elvis which lead his little band to sound just a tad ‘rock n’ roll’. We all compare something new to something old which in itself is not only human nature but a compliment in itself. It’s no coincidence then that the fabulous RIDEOUTS have already been compared with the Beatles and Eric Clapton by those who understand this business, which is why it would be naïve in the extreme to overlook ‘the next best thing!!!’ THE RIDEOUTS were formed in 2003 by guitarist and multi instrumentalist Max Scherbi. He was then joined by Gianpiero de Candia on bass and Andrea D’Ostuni on drums. Their album, "THE STORM AFTER THE CALM", which was completed this year, will soon be available to grace your player of choice. It would be so easy to follow the usual PR format of filling this page with cliché and b*****it about a band of which you know nothing…….you know that and so do I. THE RIDEOUTS would be mortified if I were to put them in the same category as everyone else. That’s why it must be left to ‘the boys’ and their album to do the ‘talking’. After all, isn’t that why we’re all here? Isn’t that what it’s all about? RADIO Do your listener a favour: give them the opportunity to hear THE RIDEOUTS Hey, but what do I know? Well, I’ve been in this business for 20 years as a broadcast journalist, presenter, writer, columnist, editor and producer, I’ve worked with and met some of the best and most creative folk on this planet including the likes of Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr and I don’t afford praise lightly.
