Love SongsA Better Love Songs Radio Station plays the music that brings back those magical moments. Whether falling in or out of love, we hope these songs might help you to find words for the experience.
After one year of complete hiatus The Modern Day Saint is back! What?! You haven’t heard of them?! What’s that? You don’t even know what they sound like?! Well just take the explosiveness of the Bronx mixed with the level headedness of the Foo Fighters which fused together creates songs sometimes as over-orchestrated as The Verve to songs as stripped down and confessional as, quite possibly, Elliot Smith. So now that you know what to expect. Let’s get down to telling the story. It all happened back in the day, which happened to be a Wednesday in the summer of 2003. This is when five kids came together and decided to form a rock group that could be taken seriously. All the members of The Modern Day Saint had played previously in unknown bands throughout Western Mass whose hometowns all laid adjacent to one another. Being so close and having much in common musically the boys took it as a calling to bond together and become a great band The first step to becoming a great band is sounding like a great band. Though, at the time TMDS did not have the proper funds to accomplish that. So taking matters into their own hands TMDS focused their attention to selling CDs up and down the east coast at the well known event entitled “Warped Tour”. After about 2 weeks of whoring themselves out, TMDS came up with enough cash to purchase what they need, and also had enough left over to record a 3 song demo which eventually become the first half of a split CD with the now defunct band “Sonny” , released on Boston based label Fork In Hand records. So after touring the country three times on this short CD, the boys thought it was time to record their first full length album. Keeping in the spirit of doing things themselves, they choose to record their album “…And Tomorrow We Will Have Nothing” on their own. After the commencement of the recording process not one, but two tragedies struck them. The First of the two tragedies was a shot in the armor of the band. Their bass player and drummer had decided to call it quits after their 65 day summer tour. (Citing reasons of not being ready to devote their lives to touring and being in a professional band). The remaining 3 members Dan Lang-Gunn (vocals), Joe Urban (lyrics, guitar), and Adam DiMuzio (Vocals, guitar) stood strong though and vowed to still keep the band together and tour with more conviction than ever. Though the latter of the two tragedies took their armor off then threw it back in their face. On November 19th 2004, Dan Lang-Gunn had an arrhythmia on stage. He is currently in a medical facility in Worcester, MA and God-willing will one day be the same. A year later after thinking life over and leaving music, Adam and Joe decided to finish what 3 kids worked so hard for. And that was to be that great band. Now armed with a new drummer (Ali Vahadji) and bass player (Chris Simpson) The Modern Day Saint is back with a vengeance. Hooking up with the sweet sweet people at Eyeball records TMDS will release their album “…And Tomorrow We Will Have Nothing” August 2006. (official bio) Read more on Last.fm.
