Room For Gray

Anyone in the music industry knows that success is contingent on a bit of luck, but luck is useless without a burning desire to win and a relentless work ethic to back it up. Failure is not an option for Room For Gray. Hailing from Minneapolis, MN James Gray (lead vocals, guitar), Jared Hedberg (bass, backing vocals), and Stephen J (drums/percussion) have endured 7 years together electrifying audiences across the Midwest. Fueled with pop-rock energy and claiming influences such as Bon Jovi, Matchbox 20, and U2, Room For Gray continues to expand its fan base through the power of grass roots support. As a testament to this progress, the band earned a spot as a top 10 finalist in the 2007 Spin Magazine Hot Pursuit nationwide contest. To date, Room For Gray has sold over 5,000 records independently and has just celebrated the official release of its 4th album entitled, “The Next Step” (February 2009). This new record, produced and recorded by World Record Productions (Quietdrive, Dropping Daylight), helps convey RFG’s mission. “Our goal has always been to write and record hook-ridden pop rock songs that you will either love or hate,” explains James Gray. “Over the years, through experience and continuously studying our influences, we have finally honed in on our musical identity. I believe this record really represents us in the truest sense.” Refusing to leave any stone unturned, Room For Gray continues to draw attention from industry executives. Those such as producers James Harley (Grammy Award winner) and Jeremy Tappero of World Record Productions, seven-time Grammy Award winning producer Andre Fischer (MCA Records), and former staff writer Jeff Harrington (Warner Brothers, Atlantic Records) have all given their stamp of approval. NBC’s Kare 11 news anchor Belinda Jensen referred to Room For Gray as a “red-hot band.” Through various media outlets such as radio, live TV (NBC, CBS), and featured segments on MTV’s The Real World, the band is reaching a mass audience. Armed with a powerful new album, support from its legion of devoted fans, and a renewed spirit, Room For Gray is truly on to “The Next Step.” Read more on Last.fm.
