Miztura was founded by four friends: Andoni Valverde, Ion Grijalbo, Pablo Izaguirre and Gorka Matxinbarrena. Andoni, Pablo and Gorka were born in 1978 and three years later was Ion in 1981. They are from San Sebastian, a city located in the northeast area of Spain, called the Basque Country. In 1996, Ion started playing the guitar and at the same time encouraging and introducing to the rest of its friends to play music. In a few months time, they all started making their own instruments and learning with guiltless songs... Miztura spent the first years learning and acquiring skills, Pablo, Ion and Andoni with the strings and Gorka with the drums... After a long time and dedication on improving their musicians skills, Miztura started playing some live concerts throughout San Sebastian´s small pubs and young houses, sometimes doing versions but most of the times offering their own songs as well as theirs ideas... Miztura´s idea was and still continues to be on working upon their own sound but with similar tastes, motivations and expression ways... Their first experiment took place with the first recording at their own local... During the first years, they adopted different names like Fofur, Noisynose... until they decided for the name "Miztura" after a concert that they played with an European Hardcore band called "The Pale"... In 2000, Miztura recorded his first demo and those songs were published by Fork Series in 2001. They played most of their live performances in the Basque Country, having the opportunity to play in another Spanish cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Gijon... It is in 2003, when Miztura appears with new songs and decided to record a new CD. They recorded on live in a studio lost in the mountains, it took a day of work and it was published by a basque discography called Metak. After soon, Miztura embarked in a new project called "Arrazen Miztura" (mixture of human races), because of this, they didn´t dedicated to play concerts to present the disc "Begura". This was because an invitation to participate in a local music festival called "Festival Plaza" and Miztura collaborated with a video artist, a cellist and a violinist.
