Marc Ellington (born December 16, 1945 in Boston, Lincolnshire) is a Scottish folk-singer and multi-instrumentalist. While only releasing a few albums himself, the first being in 1969, Ellington is particularly remembered for appearing as a guest musician with Fairport Convention and Matthews' Southern Comfort. Ellington also contributed to several recordings by Richard Thompson and sang on Linda Thompson's 1996 album "Dreams Fly Away". For some time subsequently, Ellington has worked in film video and record production, as well as composing music for television and film. In October 1984, Ellington was appointed as one of the Deputy Lieutenants of the Scottish county of Aberdeenshire (such an appointment does not terminate with the changing of the Lord-Lieutenant; Deputy Lieutenants usually retire at age 75).
