LoneLady is a pseudonym of Manchester, UK musician Julie Campbell. She is a multi-instumentalist and producer who plays guitar, keyboards, cello, drum machines and drumpads. Her latest album is Hinterland (Mar 2015, Warp). In 2009, she signed to Warp and a début album followed, Nerve Up (Feb 2010, Warp). From this, two singles were released: Immaterial (Nov 2009, Warp) and Intuition (Dec 2009, Warp). Her début recording was the 4-track single "Hi Ho Bastard/Fear No More" (Jun 2005, Filthy Home Recordings), followed by the EP "Have No Past" (Oct 2005, Filthy Home). Her first show outside Manchester was at SXSW 2006, Texas, where she was invited to play, on the strength of these 4-track recordings. Billboard listed her in their ‘Ones to watch’, in a SXSW 2007 preview feature. LoneLady’s influences include: Christa Päffgen (aka Nico), Colin Newman, Joy Division, Cabaret Voltaire, A Certain Ratio, Public Image Ltd. and Gang Of Four.
