"Unusual music from unexpected places. The Copenhagen-based Klakki have set the words of Icelandic poets to their unique orginal music, using traces of the Nordic musical traditions, but only as a medium used to create a unique popular, jazz-inflected art music. The obvious focus is the wonderful Icelandic vocalist Nina Björk Elíasson, who also wrote much of the music. Hasse Poulsen supplies supple acoustic guitar, Martin Bregnhøi the sometimes quirky percussion and Olafur Gudnason the dramatic bottom of acoustic bass. Guests Iver Kleive (pipe organ) and Thomas Sandberg (percussion and vibraphone) add diverstity and color to the sound." (CDROOTS.COM) Read more on Last.fm.
