Palmi Gunnarsson

Singer/bassplayer/producer, Palmi Gunnarsson, was born 29th September 1950 and was only five years old when he got his first instrument. He has been one of the leading figures in popular music in Iceland for the last 30 years. His work consists of multiple recordings with the group MANNAKORN (11 albums), 2 albums with the legendary band BRUNALIÐIÐ, 1 album with the rock group FRIÐRYK, 3 solo albums, several Christmas albums and many many more ... Palmi was a bassplayer for many years with the late legendary jazz pianist Guðmundur Ingólfsson. He has also played leading roles in musicals, such as Judas in Jesus Cr. Superstar in the seventies and Che Guevara in Evita in ´93. His recordings as a sessionplayer, playing electric and double bass are too many to list up here... Palmi has been working both as TV and music producer, doing series on fly fishing in Iceland and Greenland and producing albums such as the MANNAKORN albums, Bjork´s first album when Bjork was only 11 years old and Siggi Palma debut album, Stories. Palmi has also been working on script writing since he got his diploma from the Iceland school of Filming in 1995...
