Jack Strange

JACK STRANGE grew up in New Orleans surrounded by jazz and rock and roll music and musicians, so he wanted to play early. In school he played the trumpet and learned to read music. Later he bought a guitar and taught himself to play it using Beatles, Bob Dylan, and other singer-songwriter songbooks. Not long after that, he started writing songs and has been writing them ever since. Now Strange writes the lyrics, composes the music, performs the vocals, guitars, and drums, and arranges and produces the recordings of all Strange songs. The songs fall roughly in the alternative, folk rock, and country genres with influences ranging from Dylan to Alice in Chains. In addition to numerous solo acoustic performances in small venues in New Orleans during the past fifteen years, Strange has contributed his bang to the indie music explosion by posting dozens of songs across the web and garnering thousands of hits, streams and downloads.
