Elba Ramalho

Elba Ramalho (born on August 17, 1951 in Conceição de Piancó, Paraíba, Brazil) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, performer, poet and actress. Elba is know for her explosive performances and to many Brazilians her energy and flamboyant personality is compared to that of Madonna and Tina Turner. She is sometimes called "The Queen of Forro", a distinctive musical form, characteristic of Northeastern Brazil. In addition to her successful solo career, Elba has collaborated with a number of well-established Brazilian acts, including Alceu Valença and her first cousin Zé Ramalho. Read more on Last.fm.
