Luísa Maita, singer and songwriter based in São Paulo, Brazil, is the daughter of Amado Maita, musician and composer who had his only album considered the "holy grail" among collectors in the world, and Myriam Taubkin (cultural producer). She has been listening to jazz and samba music since childhood. In 2010, launched her solo work as a singer, going far beyond samba and MPB, searching for a fresh approach to pop music in Brazil. She spent time with great musicians like Sizão Machado, Moacir Santos, Nana Vasconcelos, Paulinho da Viola, Lenin, William Vergueiro, among many others. Luísa showed her ability as a songwriter with two sambas recorded by Virginia Rose and a song called "Beleza" (voted by Rolling Stone magazine as the 12th best song of 2009) recorded by Mariana Aydar. She has had stories published in major newspapers and magazines in the country calling attention of journalists from Veja, Folha, O Estado de S. Paulo, Jornal da Tarde, O Globo, Bravo, Rolling Stone. Luisa Maita also worked with major producers in Brazil as Antonio Pinto, Beto Villares and Bid.
