Andrew McLan "Andy" Fraser (3 July 1952 – 16 March 2015) was an English songwriter and bass guitarist whose career lasted over forty years and includes a notable period as one of the founding members of the rock band Free in 1968, at age 15. Rock Icon Andy Fraser had been recently honored by BMI’s 4 Million Play Club for crafting the monster rock anthem "All Right Now". Andy Fraser is best known around the world as the legendary bassist and founding member of the 70's rock band FREE, and for writing Robert Palmer’s mega-hit "Every Kinda People". For over four decades Fraser has been composing and songwriting with artists’ Rod Stewart, Chaka Khan, Paul Young, Joe Cocker, Paul Carrick, Wilson Pickett, Three Dog Night, Bob Seger, Randy Crawford, Etta James, Frankie Miller, Ted Nugent, and many more. “This Is The Big One” was written, performed and recorded to coincide with the efforts of others concerned about global climate change. "Music is my gift, and thus how I make my contribution", says Fraser. The song also features virtuoso slide guitar from one of music industry’s best female guitarists, Kat Dyson. Internationally renowned in the industry, Kat was previously lead guitarist and band member for Prince and The New Power Generation. The video also includes stunning footage of his daughter, Hannah Fraser, swimming with a whale pod.
