Amy Firth is an Australian singer/songwriter living in London. Raised west of Sydney, in the cloud-cloaked villages of the Blue Mountains, Amy’s sound is rooted in the eucalyptus and wood-smoke of an Australian winter. She spent 2008 roaming the globe in search of broader, brighter horizons, wowing audiences from Paris to Lisbon and along the Edinburgh Fringe. For the past four years she has divided her days between her childhood sweetheart Sydney and part time lover London. She is two parts bravado and brilliance, and a third pure guts. She sings from the heart and rocks from the soul. Critics in London’s West End loved her so much they paid her the ultimate British accolade – a year’s supply of cider as first prize in a talent competition. It’s still waiting for her in a dusty corner of Clapham Common. Amy’s music is a mosaic of jazz, folk, rock and funk, and there’s little that doesn’t form part of her repertoire. She’s been singing since she could speak, and playing guitar almost as long. Read more on Last.fm.
