Ustad Barkat Ali Khan

Ustad Barkat Ali Khan (1905-1962) received his intial training from his father, Ali Baksh Khan. Later he was taught by his older brother, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. After the partition he went to Pakistan where he practiced in the lighter forms of North Indian classical music. He was especially acknowledged as a great artist of thumri, dadra, geet and ghazal. Furthermore, Ustad Barkat Ali Khan had outstanding abilities in using murki, phanda, zamzama and a lot of other techniques of Purab and Punjab ang. Read more on Last.fm.
