Ty Kovatch is a singer-songwriter born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He has recorded four albums, "Uno," (1999), "Rum & Honey," (2001), "Anybody's Bet," (2006), and "Versions of the Truth," (2012). His music is influenced by singer-songwriters like Neil Young, Jim Croce, Bob Dylan, and John Lennon as well as the alternative rock music that became emblematic of his generation. The influence of Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and Nirvana's Kurt Cobain can be found throughout his works of music. In 1999 Kovatch recorded "Uno" which includes fan favorite tracks like "Flipside," "Easy," "These Days," "Stay," "Sundays," and others. In 2001 he recorded his sophomore effort "Rum & Honey" which demonstrated Ty's growth as a musician and a writer. Tracks like "22," "Fourth of July," "Valhalla," "Verses," and "The Way It's Gonna Be," along with the album title track hit home for almost any listener. In 2006 Kovatch recorded his third album, "Anybody's Bet," which was yet another leap forward both musically and lyrically. Fan favorites from this album include the catchy hooks of "Mary," the angry breakup song "Reload," the reflective "Burned," the nostalgic "Covered by Your Covers,"and the fun loving "Leave Your Best Girl Home." Kovatch's fourth album, "Versions of the Truth," was released in April 2012 and contains 6 new songs and a re-recorded version of the song "Easy", which appeared on his first album. Kovatch's pithy lyrics, catchy hooks, and gritty voice are alive and well throughout. This album moves at a faster pace than some of his prior records with tracks like "Sweet Relief," "Pick it Up/Put it All Back," and "Easy 2012," but fans of his slower, introspective work will appreciate "Hearts & Arrows," and "Unwavering," as well. The record takes its title from the closing verse of the track "Love and Other Games," and even the bonus track "Call Me Out," adds to a strong body of work from Kovatch.
