Two Harbors

Two Harbors (formerly known as Colonial Vipers Attack) is an indie "dreampop" band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, which was founded in 2006. The original linup included vocalist/guitarist Chris Pavlich, guitarist/vocalist Kris Johnson, bassist John Schrei, keyboardist Dax Eckel, and drummer Shawn Grider. The band released their first self-titled album in 2006, when they were still known as Colonial Vipers Attack. The album garnered praise from local critics and crowds alike, prompting the band to begin work on their second album. However, soon after production began, Eckel and Schrei both left the band, citing "real world" issues they were facing. The remaining band members recruited bassist Jeremy Bergo, a longtime friend of the group, to reconstruct their lineup. Hoping to capture the band's on-stage energy in their new recording, the band took a few unconvential measures during production - each track was recorded as a complete, live performance, and the band collaborated on every track during the songwriting process. Ed Ackerson, founder of Susstone records, was brought in to produce the album, which was recorded in Ackerson's Flowers Studio. The album's first track and first single released under the Two Harbors name, "You Pulled the Rug Out," proves that the band was succesful in harnessing their spirit and energy for their new album. The track is simultaniously powerful and melencholy, filled with sky-high hooks and grungy riffs. Earning them a spot in local radio rotations, look for "You Pulled the Rug Out" and their new album, "All The Places We Would Rather Be," to push Two Harbors into the national spotlight. http://www.myspace.com/twoharborsmusic http://www.susstones.com http://www.3sidedsingles.com/wp/category/artists/colonial-vipers-attack/ (Free download) Read more on Last.fm.
