The Dead Rocks is a Surf Music band from São Carlos, a countryside city located in São Paulo State, Brazil. The band is formed by Johnny Crash on guitar, Marky Wildstone on drums and Paul Punk on bass. In 2005 was released an album and a split vinyl 7 inches. The album INTERNATIONAL BRAZILIAN SURFS was released by monstro records and the BRASIL INSTRO/SURF VOL.1 a vinyl by Mondo 77 records. The INTERNATIONAL BRAZILIAN SURFS has been indicated as the best instrumental album by the Dynamite magazine. It has also been indicated as the best disc of the year by really importants journalists such as Lucio Ribeiro, who writes to Folha de São Paulo newspaper. Phil dirt the guru of the surf music from the biggest surf music portal, Reverb Central, classified the album with four stars. In 2004 they played at GORDO A GOGO a tv program from MTV Brazil The Dead Rocks has done a europe tour in the end of 2005, through 4 countries, France , Germany , Italy and Belgium in a total of 30 concerts. At the beginning of 2006 the band had been at importants cities od the southside of Brazil, including the capitals Curitiba, Florianopolis and Porto Alegre. The band had also played in several importants brazilian rock festivals as the Bananada festival placed in Goiânia at 2005 and 2006, Ruido festival in Rio de Janeiro at 2006, The first championship Mineiro of surf in Belo Horizonte at 2004 and 2005. Recently The Dead Rocks started to be sponsored by the vintage american guittars factory Di Pinto Electric Guittars and Basses wich also sponsored big names of the world music like Dick Dale, White Stripes and Los Straitjackets. They get into a studio to record five new songs that will be released in a vinyl 7 inches by Monstro records. A new international tour is coming up soon and gigs doesn´t stop!!
