The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra is an Irish indie band. Practically all hailing from Limerick, Ireland - save one token Galwegian - the band blends warm vocal harmonies, classy instrumentation and ear-catching melodies that is desperately hard to categorise yet strangely easy to love. Originally a group of college friends who parted ways due to emigration and the like, the band reformed when two members - Ann and David Blake featured on Ray D'Arcy's album Even Better Than The Real Thing Volume 2 with a haunting version of Hole in The Head by the Sugababes. They have since produced two successful EPs, 'Fireside Chat' and 'Small Contradictions' and have enjoyed radio airplay from Ryan Tubridy on Radio One, Ray D'Arcy, Tom Dunne, Paul McLoone, Alion Curtis and Dave Couse on Today FM, The Blue of the Night on Lyric FM and Hot Press journalist's Alan Jacques's show Green and Live on Limerick's Live 95FM. Their summery winter single 'December', released in December 2008 was very successful in the Irish Independent Charts www.downloadmusic.ie. Combining guitars, a keyboard, violin, double bass and percussion as well as three vocals and various musical toys, The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra are wonderful to look at as well as listen to. Expansive instrumentation coupled with a dark, wry wit The (very well dressed) Brad Pitt Light Orchestra produce an unmissable vibrant, life-affirming, live experience. bplo image designed by Ruth Crean www.nicedaydesigns.com Read more on Last.fm.
