Susan Colin is a singer, songwriter, producer, arranger, engaging performer, worship service leader and Cantorial Soloist, based in Flower Mound, Texas. Her songs appeal to listeners of all ages and backgrounds. Her voice is angelic and warm, and critically acclaimed: "After hearing her voice, you'll want to take this recording everywhere. Ms. Colin sings with a clarity that's breathtaking and rare.” - Dallas Morning News. Susan has released four CDs: Wonder,is an EP (extended play) of 5 songs of inspiration and liturgy. Every Day is a collection of original interfaith, inspirational songs; Prayer of the Heart and Shabbat Favorites feature updated versions of Jewish worship music. Born and raised in New York, this Long Island girl sang in choirs from the age of 9, when the music teacher at her elementary school recognized Susan's keen musical interest and obvious vocal talent. Susan continued to sing in choirs and attended Boston University as a voice student. Unsure of her goals, Susan eventually transferred and graduated from Arizona State University with a Liberal Arts degree. Eventually she returned to singing, as a regular studio singer for jingles and rock operas with Synchestra Studios in Phoenix. Working with composer/producer Ed Van Fleet helped Susan develop her love for the professional recording process, which is evidenced in the stunning production qualities of all of Susan's CDs. As an adult, Susan found her way back to Judaism, moved to the Dallas area with her husband and three children, became a Cantorial Soloist, was a bat mitzvah at age 41 (ask, and she'll tell you the story), and continues to develop her songwriting and performing abilities. Susan is a guest artist in residence at synagogues and churches around the country leading worship services and presentations on topics such as Adult Spirituality, Women’s programs, Healing services, and Musical Prayer. Susan performed at the 2008 Shalshelet Interntional Music Festival concerts in Milwaukee and Washington DC, and her song "New Moon" won a Shalshelet award. Other national performances of note include the 2005 URJ Biennial convention, and Susan was a featured performer at the 2006 CAJE (Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education) convention. Susan is Music Program Director at Congregation Kol Ami in Flower Mound, Texas, responsible for the Cantorial Soloist committee, music worship programs and services. She also sings regularly at as a Cantorial Soloist at Adat Chaverim in Plano, Texas. Susan is was the founder and original Director of the Flower Mound Coffeehouse, a non-profit venue open to the public offering secular music programs.
