Sidsel Strom is a jazz singer-songwriter from Denmark. In 2002, Sidsel makes her first movements into the world of jazz attending the Den Rytmiske Højskole in Vig. In 2003 she began studying voice at Musikalsk Grundkursus in Copenhagen. She attended the jazz meet Brandbjerg Jazzstævne 2003-2004, where she sang, met great musicians, made new friends and immersed herself in jazz. The following year, Sidsel started her jazz band Sidsel Storm Quartet, performing at jazz festivals in Denmark. She also joined the pop-electro band Next To Beluga. Continuing her 3 years of study at MGK, Sidsel also began studying musicology at Copenhagen University. No matter how tightly packed her program, nothing could stop Sidsel from playing music: busier than ever, she also sang backing vocals for other bands and singers, such as Amalie Bruun and Captain Mirage. Sidsel flown to New York in 2007, where she was granted a place in the new two year degree Voice Embodiment, for professional singers and singing teachers. Sidsel and Malene Mortensen recorded backing vocals for the Homeless Football World Cup. Next To Beluga released its debut album Out of Place 17 December 2007. Sidsel self titled debut solo album, Sidsel Storm, is released on 26 May 2008, featuring musicians as Morten Lund, Jacob Karlzon, Jesper Thorn, Gunnar Halle and Alexander Kraglund.
