Who is Shy Mitchell? Shy Mitchell is the new generation of Hip/Hop and RnB. He is a musical phenomenon who captivates and intrigues all music enthusiasts alike. His music is RnB/Hip Hop with a taste of soulful Rock and is a multi- talented musician who can sing, rap and play guitar. Shy’s stage presence is unmistakable with his ability to draw in his viewers and share his passion and love of his art with any crowd. Shy’s musical influences vary from Rock to Rap and RnB. Some of his inspirations include Nelly, Floetry, Chris Cornell, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Young Jeezy and Incubus. Where it all began. Shy was born of Cherokee Indian and African American decent on October 18, 1986 in Buffalo, New York. When he was two his mother moved from Buffalo to Niagara Falls, Canada with Shy and his two older brothers with dreams of a better life. By the time Shy was 9 years old he had already developed a love of music which was no surprise, it is in his blood. His mother was an aspiring singer and was scouted by a New York City music manager who then later established awareness of her name among labels such as RCA, CBS Records and many more. His father played in a band called new world productions. He played with Nate and Lanise Hughes who both later went on to play with Rick James in his band. Music was his outlet. When Shy was 17 he was presented with an opportunity to join an international soccer team from Holland. It wasn’t long before he learned that music was his true calling in life and quickly returned to writing music and following the path that he was meant for. Concentrating on his music kept him grounded and focused until he was in a hit and run accident. Shy spent a short time in the hospital after he was hit by a car. After returning home to his mother’s house he realized that to get through his injuries from the accident he would have to rely on his music. In spring of 2012 he found himself without direction and started to lose sight of his dream until his car broke down in front of a music studio. From that moment on he started to record. Soon to follow was new management, new goals, and structure and now Shy Mitchell has found himself more in love with his music than ever before. LO SIENTO This song titled “Lo Siento” which means I’m Sorry was inspired by a vacation that Shy took in 2011 to the Dominican Republic. While there he met a local woman in which he had developed strong feelings for. Upon meeting this local Woman he had realized that it would be difficult to have a relationship due to immigration circumstances. His heart longed for her as he boarded the Plane headed to Canada and reminisced on the next time he would see his Dominican girl. Read more on Last.fm.
