There have been multiple bands to use the name: 1) Shots Fired is a weekly look into the world of hip-hop with music journalist Jeff Weiss, underground hip-hop star MC Nocando, and special guests. New episodes premiere Thursdays. 2) Eons ago, before the sands of time, four warriors rose from the hell fires in the East and thus, Shots Fired were born. Jay Kopping, armed with the banshees wail. Joshua Rowland, beater of the drums of war. Simon Vorwerk, slayer by six string and Brian West, the bass master of doom. For centuries radio stations had played the evil pop rap dance shittery to seduce and enslave the masses. For Shots Fired their task was an arduous but imperative one: master the ancient art of punk n roll and break the shackles of the oppressed masses. Honing their skills by battling in clans such as Mean Streets, Highway Casino and Cheerleader Corpses these fine warriors were more than ready to tackle the task at hand. In 2008 Shots Fired began their assault against the tumour of mainstream mediocrity and since have waged constant battle in their quest for victory. Battlegrounds such Bohemians, CCHQ, London Calling, The Winston as well as many others have bared witness to the destruction that these four skilled warriors could enact. Battling alongside local legends such as The Mean Streets, Juggernaught, The Vendetta Cartel and The Slashdogs allegiances were won and friendships were gained. The year 2010 sees our band of merry warriors still as eager and willing as ever to overthrow the dark and sinful master of all things average and shit. What does the future hold for our four fine protagonists? Why not turn off that radio, kick that fucking television set right in and seek out these glorious warriors do battle. If their way speaks to the innermost yearning of your shackled soul then join them, buy them a beer and together the revolution shall begin... A quartet (sometimes trio) from Kansas City, MO, playing an amalgamation of many styles of rock with influences from across the board including Drive Like Jehu, The Cure, and Helmet. Their self-titled CD, produced by Josh Shapira, was recorded at Rax Trax in Chicago, IL, and was released in June of 2004. Following this, they played a handful of Warped Tour dates and performed as the backing band on a Reggie and the Full Effect tour, then imploded upon internal conflicts. The group's core membership was Zachary Aaron, Billy Johnson (Frogpond), and TJ Matthews (Sunset Black), with the recent addition of Cory White (The Esoteric) upon their reunion in late 2009. The band is reported to be writing new material. Shots Fired was also a short lived hardcore/metal act based out of Kelowna, British Columbia. They played a grand total of one a show, yet still crafted a demo to be shared with the world. With band leader Zach Watson (Blackshark) writing the music, finding worthy musicians he could play with was often a struggle. For the band's single show they performed as Zach on vocals, Zelly and Matt Kelly (Horizons, Born For Battle) on guitar, Alex Bird on bass and Grant Mckinnon on the drums. Read more on Last.fm.
