ran jurgenson was born in tel aviv, israel on the 4th of december, 1974. playing the drums since the age of 10, he played with several acclaimed metal bands along the 90's. in 1994, after the departure of his first band providence, ran joined with people, who's live performances were renowned for their repeated chaotic themes - usually ending earlier then the set-list would suggest (as early as after the first song...). people's 1994 spooked demo saw ran participate in his first ever studio recording. in mid 1996, after being honorably expelled from the jerusalem film school, he started playing with alternative-nonsense cult act infectzia with whom he toured all around tel-aviv and beyond for the following 5 years, taking part in the recording of both demo tapes and the band's debut album. for ran, infectzia was also a chance make useful of his love for the art of film/video-making. he produced and directed 3 videos for the band and left his mark in several others by means of post-production. in mid 2001, after quitting infectzia, ran left for nyc in search of a worthy musical project to take part in. in early 2002, he was driven to change his mind, and as a result his course. the re-discovering of early instrumental tracks he recorded as far back as 1998 made him put an end to months of getting through numerous auditions, just to find himself giving them up in an instant. he decided to head back to israel in order to work on new materials which, in time, would become in time. the beginning of 2004 saw a limited release of those aforementioned compositions entitled the early years, a self-produced compilation put together during the work on in time. around the same time he also produced a song for amit erez, come get your love, later released under the pseudonym the trickstar waterfall in late 2003. nowadays, in addition to working on new materials for his next album, an upcoming live show of in time and future plans for a dvd release, ran also plays live drums for and works on the upcoming album by amit erez, who, symbiotically, plays in ran's live band as well. ran is also the director of several music videos and short films and makes his living by doing motion-graphics and video compositing for music-videos and tv commercials.
