Mikie and Marie started writing together in 2005 and by the end of 2006 had an album written, at which point they decided to focus on becoming an actual band. They roped in Mike Flood on drums, Christian Daugherty (Mikie's (not so) little brother) on bass and Andy Gifted on guitar so they could bring their songs to the masses. The album was released on 15th February 2007 at the Cornerhouse as part of Mikie's birthday celebrations. Mike Flood left the band later that year, to be replaced by Martin "Rocklord" Rigby. Andy has now also sadly left the band to move to England to be with his beloved Gen. At present there are no plans to replace the boy gifted. Postcode have played with artists including Goldblade, U.K. Subs, Darren Hayman and Zombina and The Skeltones on the island as well as touring the U.K. including dates at the Cavern in Liverpool and a headline slot in Edinburgh during the Fringe. They released the second album, 'Zebraland' on 5th September 2008 and are working on material for the next record. Between albums, in May 2008 the band released "The Post-Zebracore E.P." on Filthy Little Angels. It is a download only release containing four songs again written and recorded by Mikie and Marie and is available at www.filthylittleangels.com Throughout the band's history Mikie and Marie have regularly performed acoustic sets and have now set up a myspace page to reflect this side of the band. It can be found at www.myspace.com/postcodeacoustic (see our top friends) and will contain acoustic versions of Postcode tracks, including demos for new songs. The duo recorded an entirely acoustic album entitled 'Zebracoustic' in the summer of 2009 to coincide with their first acoustic tour of the U.K. The record contains brand new songs along with new stripped down arrangements of tracks from the first two albums, many of which are now on the acoustic page.
