Naked Prey were formed by Tucson (Arizona) singer and guitarist Van Christian (after a brief stint in Green On Red as a drummer). The mini-album Naked Prey (Down There, 1984) remains one of the defining experiences of "desert-rock", the country/psychedelic sound born out of the southwestern states. At least Flesh On The WallUnder The Blue Marlin (Frontier, 1986) is a modest affair, highlighted by Voodoo Godhead. 40 Miles From Nowhere (Frontier, 1987) and the live Kill The Messenger (Fundamental, 1990) closed their career.
