Tiki Cowboys is a unique Chicago "Beach Blues" and "Tiki-Twang" urban tropical country music recording project by Eric 'Baron' Behrenfeld. Eric Behrenfeld is primarily known as a blues drummer, but he also plays hand percussion and the ukulele. Born in 1960 in Los Angeles California, 'Baron' grew up in the suburbs of Chicago later moving to the city as a young adult and started playing drums professionally with a variety of Blues Recording Artists since the early 1990's including John Primer, James Wheeler, Tommy McCracken, Sammy Fender, AC Reed, Liz Mandville Greeson, Carl Snyder, and Emery Williams, Jr. Around 2007 he created the Tiki Cowboys, a ukulele and hand percussion original music project which later in 2009 also became a working band as well with guitar, bass, and harmonica musicians performing live with him around Chicagoland. The debut Tiki Cowboys EP, A Taste Of Tiki, was released in 2009 on his Blue Baron indie label. Around this same time period going forward, Baron played drums for country band Janesville, percussion for Hawaiian ukulele band the Windy City Islanders, and later drums with the surf rock band, the Cocktail Preachers. A full length album by Tiki Cowboys, Island Dreams, was released in 2015 on the Blue Baron Productions indie label. Read more on Last.fm.
