Mjölner is the name of at least two bands: 1) A Chilean Folk Black Metal/Ambient band. 2) A Swedish Viking Rock band. In Norse mythology, Mjölner (literally, "That which crushes") is the Hammer of Thor, the god of lightning and thunder. 1) Mjölner was created in 1994 by Doomicus, in the need to express the musical ideas that, in certain form, did not continue exactly the musical esthetics of Bewitched (Circa Hibernum In Perpetuum). An unreleased single demo was recorded on 1994 (Faraway Winterlands) originally for Bewitched's Hibernum In Perpetuum as bonus track. In the winter of 1996 Doomicus and Ravn (Holocaust) they recorded in complete secret the album "Doomicus Trip", the which was realesed on tape (Limited to 100 copies) in November of 1996 by Winter records. Then, in 1997, Artaria records did the reprint of the album on tape again, but this time with full colour artworks and some differences in the original mix were made. That same year Artaria recs. wanted to publish the album on CD, but finally the label was in bankrupt due the label's bad promotion and the bad sales from another early Artaria bands. Mjölner recorded an mini album in 1999, entitled "The One Eyed God", but finally that disk never saw the light, and part of its tracks they were erased, kept and/or utilized in other productions where Doomicus participates. It was in 2004 when Nattasja and Tomhet joined Mjölner line-up and recorded "The Pagan Tribute", an album where is yielded homage to different musical entities that, of an or another way, they have influenced to the band along Mjölner compositions such Rea's Garden, The Gloomy Dance Of The Trees or Angrenost. Originally "The Pagan Tribute" should see the light in CD during April/May of the 2005 by Picoroco records, but the sudden death of the label's owner, and the subsequent disappearance of the same one, they left again to Mjölner (and their new album) in that of air". At the beginning of 2006, Tyrannus records offered to sign to Mjölner to publish finally "The Pagan Tribute", which include a song of its never carried out mini album "The One Eyed God" and besides, its previous 1996 album "Doomicus Trip" as bonus tracks. It fits to emphasize that the material of bonus belongs to the first original mix and carefully was remastered at Elan Studios by Doomicus himself. The date of launch of "The Pagan Tribute" was October 25 - 2006. The band (Natassja, Holocaust, Tomhet and Doomicus) recorded a long (20:36) single track named The Faceless' March and it remains unreleased till now. Mjölner disbanded on 2007 so Doomicus himself remains as the the only active member with some collaborations of Natassja on some backing vocals. The third Mjölner's Album "The Ignotum Dusk" has been recorded by Doomicus himself meanwhile Doomicus are negotiating with a label for the release. 2) Mjölner is a Viking Rock band from Sweden.
