Megaphones

Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Matt Maier made a decision in the Fall of 2007 to make a dance EP. It began as a side project to the more traditional music he was known for, but it soon became the focus of his ambitions. Matt sold his accordion to buy a synthesizer, traded his banjo for an electric guitar, and replaced his four track tape recorder with a real band. When Megaphones hit the scene, they took everybody by surprise. Matt Maier is the vocalist and guitarist, but the sound of Megaphones owes a debt to all of the players. Togethering Records label owner and music student DSK adds melody and texture on synth. Bassist and recording engineer Jeremy Ruggles brings hooks and energy. All the while, Drummer Dan Flack holds down a beat that makes it a challenge not to dance. Read more on Last.fm.
