Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Matt Maier made a decision in the Fall of 2007 to make a dance EP. It began as a side project to the more traditional music he was known for, but it soon became the focus of his ambitions. Matt sold his accordion to buy a synthesizer, traded his banjo for an electric guitar, and replaced his four track tape recorder with a real band. When Megaphones hit the scene, they took everybody by surprise. Matt Maier is the vocalist and guitarist, but the sound of Megaphones owes a debt to all of the players. Togethering Records label owner and music student DSK adds melody and texture on synth. Bassist and recording engineer Jeremy Ruggles brings hooks and energy.
