Rockologist was born in Savannah, GA. He grew up under the same swaying moss filled Southern Live Oaks that inspired Johnny Mercer. Moon River was always flowing a few miles away. The colonial architecture created a Charles Dickens atmosphere. The Gothic Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist provided towering experiences and ancient excursions of mind. Of course, he didn't know this at the time... of his childhood. But he got it later when he moved To Hiawawasse GA with his wife, and they went downtown for the Saint Patrick's Day Parade. Of course in Savannah, the Parade extends for at least a mile, maybe two, and the whole city becomes a festive playground. In Hiawassee, better known for beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain views and relaxing vacations, the parade consisted of a couple of pick up trucks, a tractor and assorted other vehicles. It ended in about 3 minutes. Rockologist produces an electic blend of styles influenced by Jazz, Rock, Americana, and mystical Indian music. As a writer, a major influence lyrically was Kris Kristofferson. Earnest Heminway influenced the lyric style, his book The Sun Also Rises haunted Rockologist and inspired his writing.
