Marek Napiórkowski

Marek Napiorkowski (guitarist, composer, producer), Universal recording artist, is one of the best and most versatile European guitarist. He recorded over 100 albums with many artists (jazz, world, pop and beyond) and toured in many countries (Japan, USA, Kanada and whole Europe). He played and recorded with the best artists of the world: Mino Cinelu, Gregoire Maret, Adam Holzman, Tomasz Stanko, Ewa Malas-Godlewska, Andy Mandorff, Klaus Doldinger (the group Passport), Anna Maria Jopek, Urszula Dudziak, Leszek Mozdzer, Dorota Miskiewicz, Henryk Miskiewicz, Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski, and many others. In 2002, he participated in the "Anna Maria Jopek and Friends with Pat Metheny: Upojenie" project - the unique, one of the kind tribute to the master composer, guitarist, 15-time Grammy Award Winner - became an instant classic, selling over 80,000 copies in thirty days! Marek Napiorkowski also played two concerts with Pat Metheny in the Warsaw Congress Hall. In 2007, he recorded with Anna Maria Jopek on her new album ID (Marek played with Christian McBride and Manu Katche) and participated in concert "African Moods" in Polish Theatre in Warsaw with Dhafer Youssef and Richard Bona. In 2005, Marek Napiorkowski recorded his first solo album "NAP" (Universal Music Poland), with the best Polish jazz musicians (Anna Maria Jopek, Dorota Miskiewicz, Leszek Mozdzer among others). Marek composed and produced all the songs. The album "NAP" was nominated to the "Fryderyk 2005" Prize (the prize of the Polish Phonographic Academy) in the category of "The Best Jazz Album" and Napiorkowski himself in the category of "The Best Jazz Musician". In 2007 Universal Music Poland released his second solo album with special guests Mino Cinelu on percussion and Gregoire Maret on harmonica. On CD played also the best young Polish artists – Michal Miskiewicz, Robert Kubiszyn, Michal Tokaj, Robert Majewski and Anna Maria Jopek. He is also the leader of Funky Groove group. They recorded two albums: first of them can be found in the Universal Worldwide Jazz Catalogue, and both albums have been chosen "The Best Album of the Year" by the readers of a professional Polish music magazine "Guitar and Bass". At present, he is recording and playing all around the world with Anna Maria Jopek Trio featuring Mino Cinelu, Henryk Miskiewicz "Full Drive", Dorota Miskiewicz, Funky Groove, and his Quartet "NAP".
