Magni Ásgeirsson

Magni ended 4th in the reality show "Rockstar-Supernova" Magni Asgeirsson was born January 12, 1978 in the small town of Egilsstadir in East Iceland. The third of four children, his family lived on a farm while he was growing up in Borgarflordur, Iceland. Magni started his first band, Shape, with some friends at the age of eleven. In September of 1999, after being involved with several bands that never achieved national success, Magni joined A Moti Sol which went on to became one of the biggest bands in Iceland. The pop-rock sound that Magni Asgeirsson nurtured with A Moti Sol pushed the band to the top of the charts and Magni found himself touring through most of Europe, playing an average of 70-90 gigs a year. In the beginning the band played mostly Ska, but over the years their music evolved into a more traditional pop/rock style. This powerful pop singer has released six albums - three of which went gold in Iceland. His seventh CD with AMS, is set for release in November of 2006. He's had hit songs including more than twenty Top 10 hits, and several number 1's on the Icelandic pop charts. He's played gigs galore, recorded duets with other Icelandic pop and rock stars, and worked on various other notable projects. In addition to being a vocalist, Magni is also a fine guitar player. and does quite a lot of performing on his own, without his band. Magni Asgeirsson is engaged to be married to his high school sweetheart. They have one son and currently live in Reykjavik, Iceland. Read more on Last.fm.
