Laura Sheeran was born in Galway Ireland in 1987, and currently lives in Dublin. She has been described as "like an episode of Twin Peaks in female form". Her releases are available from her Bandcamp. Her music combines ambient sounds, electronica and a range of instruments (notably the bowed saw, but also ukelele, accordian, flute, melodica, guitar, keyboards, etc.) to create an atmospheric soundscape that provides support for her voice and lyrics. The latter are often tinged with a sense of imminent threat, yearning, mortality and mystery. When she was 15 years old, Clodagh Simonds (Mellow Candle) asked her to contribute some vocal harmonies to material which eventually surfaced (2005-2007) in the form of Simonds's new project, Fovea Hex. Laura contributed vocals on each EP (Bloom, Huge, and Allure) of the critically acclaimed Neither Speak nor Remain Silent trilogy, and performed with Fovea Hex in all of their live concerts to date (May 2010). She has also sung vocals on the Andrew Liles & Fovea Hex collaboration Gone Every Evening, as well as the Fovea Hex remix of Pantaleimon's Under the Water on her Heart of the Sun album. In April 2010, she released her debut EP Music for the Deep Woods as a free download, pending the completion of a double album Lust of Pig & the Fresh Blood due for release the same year. Her next album entitled What The World Knows is planned to be released in April 2012, making it her fourth release with new material within a year. Aside from her own recordings and gigs, Laura Sheeran has also composed and performed music for theatre, most notably when working with Little John Nee on his one-man shows Limavady, My Heart's Delight and The Mental which toured Ireland in 2006. She has also provided the soundtracks for short films and a documentary. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
