There are more than one artists named Wraiths: 1) Wraiths is a dark ambient / noise duo from Edinburgh, Scotland formed in 2005. Shunning the difference engines and thinking machines of the current age, these two tortured priests take the hymns of their past lives and pervert them into vast walls of howling sound; a blood-flecked gobbet of phlegm in the eye of their one-time Lord. Unholy screeches echo in a cathedral of white-noise static. Compared to acts as diverse as Burzum, Lustmord, Wolf Eyes and Sunn O))), Wraiths play equal parts black ambient, noise and ritualised drone. Wraiths exclusively utilize found and re-structured equipment, location acoustics and human vocals. No computers or synthesizers are used in any Wraiths recording or live event.
