Isa a.k.a. Kuwait was born and rasied by his grandmother in Houston, TX in the notorious neighborhood of South Acres. Kuwait's talents were discovered in his home among his relatives, when he was about six. He would mock preachers and sing songs he heard on the radio. He is the nephew of a black legendary country singer, Dobie Gray, famous for his 70's hit "Drift Away". That sums up how music got in his blood. In elementary school, Kuwait hosted morning announcements and received certificates for music and talent shows. Growing up listening to Scarface, his neighbor who also lived in South Acres, and K-Rino, they taught him the blueprint of creating an album. Battling Scarface in Mom/Pop Music Shops and on Willie D. of the Ghetto Boys’ radio talk show (Reality Check), gave him the courage and faith to believe that he could hold his own in this industry as a lyricist. Kuwait became a member of Houston's South Park Coalition(THE SPC)and went on to record an album: Kuwait – Babylon, which includes features from artists such as Grammy nominee and Trumpet player Calvin Owens, K-Rino, and Shyheim of the Wu-Tang Clan. You can hear Kuwait on several compilations: K-Rino's 1999 release No Mercy, Calvin Owens 2000 release Stop Lying in my Face, a 1999 compilation Big Six Ten to Get In, Southern Affiliate in Miami Florida 2001, Ruff Eyque's UG'Z N Movement 2003, Wolftown Recordings from the UK 2004, South Acres Connected 2005, Charlie Frank - Street Playa 2006, Ryno-THEY CALL ME NO 2006, K-Rino - TIME TRAVELER 2006, K-Rino - HEAD HUNTERS 2006, K-Rino - BOOK NUMBER 7 2007, K-Rino - A Lyrical Legend 2007, The 144Elite 2007, AND NOW BACK WITH “THE FACE OF GOD” PRODUCED BY THE MULTI-PLATINUM PRODUCER, MUHAMMAD 2 G (JERRY MUHAMMAD)!!!
