Born in Madrid, Spain, in 1981. Kiko Tovar published his 1st album ("Tiempo al tiempo" "time to time") as early as 1999 under the wings of BMG and the producer Gonzalo Benavides. The first single ("No sé tu nombre" "i don't know your name") of this debout album reached number 1 in the famous Spanish radio stations "40 principales" and "Cadena 100". Songwriter that can perform only accompanied by his guitar and hypnotize the audience with his fresh and contagious humorous or tender lyrics and bossanova-like music, as he did hundreds of times before releasing his 1st album and still does nowadays in small cafes of the city of Madrid and all around the country. He has performed together with bands like Ella Baila Sola, Joaquín Sabina, Jarabe de Palo, Tontxu and Texas, which happen to be also among his favourite artists. Influenced by Circo Beat, Silvio Rodriguez, The Beatles, Golosinas, Ketama, Vinicius de Moraes, among many others as he wrote in the booklet of "Tiempo al tiempo", and also by Fito Paez, Veloso, Beck, Bjork, Kusturika, Caposella, Miles Davis, Louis Amstrong, Joaquin Sabina, Quique Gonzalez, Keane, Juan Perro, Pedro Guerra, Aristides Moreno, Ruido Pegajoso... as he writes in his official web.
