JoMo: Jean-Marc LECLERCQ (aka JoMo) is a french singer and esperantist from Lyon, France. The former singer of the group Les Rosemary’s Babies (or La Rozmariaj Beboj) who published two CDs with the french record production company Boucherie et Willins Production, he holds the guinness record for singing rock and traditional songs in over 22 languages. He also plays with two groups, as Jomo and the Libertarians (JoMo Kaj Liberecanoj); and occasionally with Jomo and the Mammoths (JoMo kaj la mamutoj). JoMo began his musical career in 1977, and learned esperanto in 1988. It was therefore perfectly natural for him to write and sing in the International Language. He created his own band, The Rosemary’s Babies, which became famous in the French alternative rock world in the early 90’s. The band toured in different countries, including China, produced two albums, and even played in the coveted Paris music hall Olympia. After the Babies split up, JoMo created a new band, Libertarios, with which he recorded a libertarian album with seven titles at Vinilkosmo, and broke the world record for multilingual concerts (22 songs in 22 languages) that appeared in the Guiness Book of Records in 2000. Afterwards, and in solo, he recorded an entire album in Esperanto entitled “JoMo Friponas” (JoMo is tricky) in Vinilkosmo’s brand new studio in 2001. The following record, “jOmO Slavumas”, appeared in the spring of 2006 with many Slav-styled musicians that JoMo plays with. He continues to concert in Esperanto and multilingually, in solo with his guitar, singing joyous and toe-tapping songs. Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/jomoleclerq Read more on Last.fm.
