John Singer

John Singer is master shakuhachi teacher, performer and recording artist. He began playing the Japanese bamboo flute in 1975 and was later an instructor at the University of Hawaii. He is one of very few shakuhachi masters in the world and currently the only one outside of Japan to record and perform using extremely rare Edo period flutes dating as far back as the 17th century.
