Genki Rockets (元気ロケッツ) is a virtual music group created by Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q-Entertainment for the video game Lumines II. The group also includes Kenji Tamai, vocalist and voice actress Nami Miyahara (宮原永海), and Rachel Rhodes who provide the lead vocals and is the actress for the fictional character Lumi, who appears as the cover girl for the band's albums and music videos. Genki Rockets first appeared in Lumines II in 2006. The band has subsequently been featured in other video games such as, No More Heroes, Lumines Live!, and Child of Eden. Their first music video, "Heavenly Star", designed by the Japanese visual artist, Glamoove Inc., was inspired by "Take On Me" by the Norwegian pop group a-ha. In 2010, Genki Rockets helped promote Sony's "make.believe" 3D event in Japan, with their music video, "make.believe" making them the first band to host a live 3D concert. The group's debut album, "Genki Rockets I: Heavenly Star" was released on July 2, 2008.
