Havana Brown

Havana Brown (born Angelique Meunier on February 14, 1985 in Melbourne, Australia), also known as DJ Havana Brown, is an Australian R&B DJ and singer. The We Run The Night Songfacts reports that she took her stage name from a breed of cat. Her musical career started with the group Fishbowl in London. However, the group disbanded without releasing a single album and she became a DJ. After offering club promoters to spin for free, she went on to do regular appearances in concerts and parties in London. Since then, she has had success with Circus Tour with Britney Spears, and also scored support spots for Enrique Iglesias, The Pussycat Dolls, Lady GaGa, Chris Brown and Rihanna in Australia. In early 2008, she signed with Universal Music Australia and released several albums of her compilation series titled 'Crave', featuring mixed R&B and hip hop. Crave Vol. 2 made it to the top five of the ARIA compilation chart and over 50,000 units of the Crave series have already sold in only one year. Crave Vol. 4 debuted at #2 on the ARIA compilation and urban charts and over 100,000 units of the Crave series have already sold in a little over a year. Her most recent album Crave Vol. 5 came out on the 29 October 2010. Havana Brown was nominated for Best DJ at the Urban Music Awards in 2007 and won Best DJ in Pop Republic Magazine’s It List in 2007. Havana now also holds down a weekly spot on Australian radio. Every Friday afternoon DJ Havana Brown can be heard on the Austereo network where she mixes a set for the "Ad Free Fifty". Havana released her debut single 'We Run The Night' in 2011. The song reached #5 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart and earned Brown two ARIA Music Award nominations for Breakthrough Artist Single and Highest Selling Single. Read more on Last.fm.
