Fast Piece of Furniture

FAST PIECE OF FURNITURE is from Toledo, Ohio. Singer/songwriter Tony Lowe had performed his songs with a variety of bands in and around Toledo for years. In 2003, Jeff Nelson relocated to Toledo from Washington D.C., where he had made a name as a drummer and record-label magnate. Impressed by Tony's music, Jeff came out of "retirement" and the two assembled a band to perform and record. The music gained the solid pulse it needed to complement Tony's out-style of rhythmic, angular guitar, and syncopated chords. After some turbulent beginnings, and many lineup changes, the group found their stride, joined by locally reknowned Mahlon Orrin on bass, and multi-talented Erika Kuester on keys. Allies of the band include Brian Nupp (Phenomenal Sound Engineer) and many excellent, supportive friends in Toledo, Ohio. After a sporadic series of studio sessions spanning two years, and audience-acclaimed live performances in the midwest, Dischord and Adult Swim Records have decided to jointly release the band's debut full-length recording on May 25, 2007.
