Ellen Winter
Across the DMV, Ellen Winter's voice can be heard. Her music utilizes the craft of story-telling in songs such as "Rock Bottom" and "Lucille and Eddie". The sound is a combination of Regina Spektor, Kate Nash, Adele, Ben Folds, Death Cab for Cutie, Tegan and Sara, and Carole King all rolled into one complete package. Recently, Ellen performed at a benefit for Haiti that raised over $4,000 for the catastrophe. But she is not only a musician; currently, she is enrolled at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in the Theatre Department and next year she will continue to pursue both passions at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. She released an EP in March 2010. She plays the main character in teen web series Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden.
