EAT YOU ALIVE is a alternative metal band from Nagoya, Japan. Originally named as MaveRick, the group began to perform under the name EAT YOU ALIVE on June 8th, 2008. Since the band's name change, both the music and the image of the band have evolved away from the conventional visual kei style. Their new sound and appearance, resembling western nu metal bands, make EAT YOU ALIVE a distinctive band in the visual kei scene. EAT YOU ALIVE disbanded 2013.12.30. On June 13th, 2009, the group organized an event where MaveRick performed a one-day comeback live. EAT YOU ALIVE's activities continued on, and August saw the simultaneous release of their second and third singles, "ADULT CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS" and "ATROCITY AND BLUE" respectively. 2010 started with the release of their fourth single, "Coke in a vein", followed by their fifth single, "Missing you / 暁", in May. Leading up to the release of "Missing you / 暁" was a novel, "暁 (Akatsuki)", that was written by Hiro, and was being gradually uploaded onto the band's official site. The group's sixth single, "REVIVE", consists of three re-recorded songs, previously released when the band was known as MaveRick, came out in August. At their successful second one-man show in September, EAT YOU ALIVE announced that they would soon become a five-member band. As promised, the band welcomed Shouya as their new guitarist on October 1st. EAT YOU ALIVE's seventh single, "THE REASON", will be released at the end of December, and their next one-man show will take place in May 2011 at the Nagoya ell. FITS ALL stage. Read more on Last.fm.
