Double Dan consists of two Dans, that formed the basis of the band name, and Joakim. Dan Lindgren plays the guitar and sings while the other Dan (Eriksson) plays the bass and Joakim Ödlund plays the guitar. Double Dan has its origin in the band Ambassadeurs, which were put to rest when Joakim joined the band. Ambassadeurs started out in 2003 when Dan E joined a band, which Dan L and a drummer named Henrik had started in 1996 together with Daniel Permbo (now a member of Sambassadeur). They were singing in their native tongue, but when Dan E joined the band started to sing in English, the international language of rock. Ambassadeurs recorded two critically acclaimed cd-r, which were called on the air e.pand in the air e.p. These two records set the standards and the band was playing some shows in the south of Sweden and was becoming a name in the independent music circles in Sweden. The band is always working on new material. Since the band members are working in different lines of business and they are something of perfectionists when it comes to the process of making music, the creative process takes a little longer than for the average band. In the beginning of 2005 the Dans had been recording some new songs in the famous Summersound Studio III in Malmö, Sweden, with legendary producer Joakim. After working together on several songs, the Dans decided to include Joakim in the band, and changed the name to Double Dan. As Joakim joined the band Henrik decided to leave the band, after serious discussions on how the band was to record their material, on which Henrik didnt agree with the rest of the band. Double Dan was once again a trio. The members have been playing in several bands during the years. Dan L has been playing in bands like Alexis and September. Dan E has been playing in bands like Starlet, September and has also been playing with Club 8. Joakim on the other hand has been playing with bands like Poprace, Starlet and is also a current member of Acid House Kings. Read more on Last.fm.
